What is Workbench?

Workbench is Fileread’s AI research workspace inside a matter. Use it to ask questions across matter documents, investigate issues over multiple turns, organize related work in projects, review supporting sources, and build work product.

Workbench can help you:

• Find contradictions across documents.
• Trace what a witness or custodian knew and when.
• Summarize important documents or themes.
• Extract obligations and deadlines.
• Surface key documents related to a claim or issue.
• Build artifacts, including chronologies and editable drafts.

Access Workbench

1. Open the Fileread matter you want to research.

2. Select Workbench from the application navigation on the left.

   

3. The Workbench panel opens with your projects and recent sessions.

4. Select an existing session, open a project, or choose New session to begin.

If Workbench is not visible, confirm that you are in the correct matter and that Workbench is enabled for your organization.

Start a research session

A session is a conversation with Workbench about a specific task or question.

1. Select New session.
2. Enter a question or instruction in the chat.
